chapter 16 described an increased concern for general management theory and postulated that this was necesitated by the further growth of organization after world war II, the proliferation of staff specialists, increased government regulation, the spurt in the growth of union, the need to apply the advance technologies developed during world war II, and a greater awareness of relating management task to their more complex environment
